Our processes described:

Aquaponics depends on the natural symbiotic relationship between healthy water, fish, bacteria, and plants. Because of this we cannot use any pesticides or herbicides in our system, in our greenhouse or on the grounds immediately adjacent to out greenhouse. We depend on only natural pest and disease control methods to produce our products starting with a state-of-the-art controlled environment greenhouse. Keeping contaminants out of our greenhouse is our first line of defense, so we follow strict bio-security protocols. These protocols include things such as viral-mesh screened ventilation openings for the greenhouse, an air-lock entry vestibule, anti-bacterial foot matt, appropriate hand and equipment sanitizers and frequent hand washing. We conduct daily walk-thru inspections of our greenhouse and system which allow us to enact appropriate prevention or correction measures as needed to eliminate any potential bio-challenges.

We track and log all pertinent information concerning our operations and daily processes. These logs include information such as system inputs, system outputs, greenhouse maintenance and system maintenance. We even track the number of visitors we have in the greenhouse. This information is stored electronically so we can readily retrieve and review any of  this data as needed.

The major input to the system is the fish feed we give our fish, we  use only quality Purina fish feeds. The only other inputs to our system are all natural, they include make up water, potash and lime (to add Potassium and Calcium for the plants and to adjust pH levels as needed) and chelated iron for the plants. Nothing else is added into our system.

In handling and harvesting our products we follow Good Agricultural Practice guidelines including gloves, hairnets, and frequent, thorough washing of all containers and food surfaces. Produce is harvested and immediately stored in our walk-in cooler at 38 degrees until taken to either our direct customers or market.

Our seed is of the highest quality, obtained from a reputable dealer who we trust to provide non-GMO seed. We use organic seed whenever it is available. Fish fingerlings are obtained from a certified professional supplier and are always accompanied by a current health certificate. We track all seed and fish from purchase  thru sale, by supplier, type, lot number and date purchased.
